11/22/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: On the day they were handing out first class manners and the stunning looks to match, our Mr. Briggs must have stood in line twice–what a guy! With a host of commands under his belt (come, sit, stay) he’s got everyone at the Care Center singing his well-deserved praises to the skies. His coat shines with good health and those bright eyes don’t miss a thing when we’re out for a walk, yet he never pulls, and matches his pace perfectly to my own. He discreetly takes care of ‘business’ along the way, too. Briggs loves to play, with a tennis ball or just a game of tag, but doesn’t guard his toys or push too hard. Off leash in playgroup, he’s equally easy-going with his four-legged peers. I think you can guess how things went down when it came to his behavior assessment…top marks all round! And did I mention he’s a professional snuggler too? I know he sounds to good to be true, but trust me, this boy is pure gold. Come see for yourself at our Manhattan Care Center. Briggs and his big heart will be waiting for you.

PLAYGROUP: 11/19: Briggs greets a male through a barrier with a soft body and wagging tail. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 11/19/16 During his initial medical exam Briggs was tense and nervous but allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: RECOMMENDATIONS:Average (Suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)

11/19/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Briggs typically enjoys running through the pen alongside male and female dogs. He will engage in rough play with dogs that have the same or similar playstyle. He has attempted to mount a female in heat, but ceases with handler intervention. He arrived to the care center as a stray, so any in-home behaviors with other dogs are unknown. Based on observations made here, the behavior department feels that Briggs could go to a home with another playful dog. 11/19: Briggs greets a male through a barrier with a soft body and wagging tail. 11/22: Briggs engages in rough, running play with a female dog. 11/23: Briggs is playful with male and female dogs–running through the pen but eventually mounting.
