A volunteer writes: A perfect ending….a little Tiramisu! And I mean little! A tiny brindle tank, a square little blockhead on a miniature body with a wagging tail. She’s SO cute!! She rocks a winter coat and as we walk down the street my little buddy gets the looks and the ‘ahhhhhh’s’. She goes potty right away, walks nicely on leash and ignores other dogs we pass. When we head to the backyard for some off leash time T is right in my lap doing a little snorting. I seriously love a dog who snorts!! T shows me her ‘sit’, gently enjoys a treat, chases both a toy and a ball but doesn’t bring them back and is simply happy exploring the pen and then coming back to my side for another hug. She drapes herself over my lap, completely content as am I. T’s little jowly face is totally schmushable, and trust me you will want to! If you’re looking for a sleek, feminine, girly dog keep looking…T is none of that! She’s boxy and it’s fabulous, and her gentle personality totally fills up her space! I can’t imagine anything sweeter than our Tiramisu! The only thing sweeter is that she becomes YOUR Tiramisu!
BEHAVIOR :
Tiramisu walks calmly on leash. She was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. She was calm and relaxed during handling. Tiramisu had a low body position during the tag test, but followed the assessor at the end of the leash. She was not interested in toys.
Tiramisu did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home.
Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, his tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands.
Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body low and a bit fearful.
Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw.
Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw.
Toy: 1. No interest.
When off leash with other dogs, Tiramisu is tense when greeting and stands tall with a high flagging tail. She re-approaches and sniffs the helper dog a few times.
