Basic Information

Zeuz is a 5 year old neutered Cane Corso. Owner is surrendering because she can no longer afford to take care of him and a child in the household is allergic. Owner bought him from a breeder 5 years ago. Owner stated he has a rash on his belly and last saw a vet in 2014 for vaccinations.

Socialization

Zeuz is friendly around strangers. He has spent time with children ages 1 to 5. He was playful around them. He also tolerated the kids handling him. He plays in a gentle manner with kids and adults. He lived with a 5 year old female Cane Corso and a 7 year old Shih Tzu. He was playful around these dogs and played in a gentle manner. He lived with three cats. He was relaxed around the cats. He has never bitten a person or another animal.

Behavior

Owner stated he has no behavior issues and is not bothered by loud or sudden noises. Owner has never trimmed his nails. Zuez has no food, treats, or toy guarding issues. He is not bothered if pushed or pulled off furniture. Owner stated he will become dead weight when you try to push off the furniture but does not react aggressive. He is not bothered by anything owner stated.

For a New Family to Know

Zeuz is described as friendly, affectionate, and playful with a low activity level. Owner stated Zeuz thinks he is a little dog. He will jump around and act like he is not so big. He also likes to lean on you. He will follow his owner around everywhere. He likes to play with squeaky and stuffed toys. He will play chase and tug. He was kept mostly indoors and slept on his own bed. He was fed Purina 1 large Breed dry dog food. Owner gave him 4 cups once a day. He is house-trained and will go potty on grass. He is well behaved when left home alone. He has never been left in a yard alone. He will do well in a crate for 8 hours or so. He knows commands, sit, down, stay, and gives paw. For exercise he goes on off-leash walks. He pulls lightly and wanders but comes back when called off the leash.

Behavior during Intake

He growled once when I was scanning him. He tolerated all other handling. He sat on command, gave paw on command, and laid down on command.
