Zeus Zolomon
Hello, my name is Zeus Zolomon. My animal id is #17798. I am a male tan dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 1 years 6 months 2 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 07-Jan-2018, with the surrender reason stated as person health – allergies.
Zeus Zolomon is at risk for behavioral reasons. He is very scared in the shelter and is difficult to remove from the kennel, barking and growling at people who approach and avoiding the leash, which he seems also to be afraid of. He has allowed minimal handling. Medically, Zeus Zolomon has\pPendulous scrotum with ulcerated surface, and we recommend this be further investigated upon placement. This condition also suggests that Zeus may be older than the 18 months reported per pedigree papers.
My medical notes are…
Weight: 95.8 lbs

DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: Vet documents and pedigree show that pt was born 6/28/16 which would make him 1.5 years old. Pt has small calluses on his elbows that are consistent with an adult dog. He has a very pendulous scrotum with ulceration on the ventral aspect which is generally consistent with an older dog (7+ years). He was muzzled so I was not able to evaluate his teeth. Microchip noted on Intake? Scanned NEGATIVE History : Surrendered, has been to the vet in the last year and had no medical concerns Subjective: Alert in kennel, walks easily Observed Behavior – Growls and barks, showing teeth, in kennel. Double-leashed and brought to exam room – pt was very tense and sat down for much of the exam, but he did not bark, growl, snap or display any other aggressive behaviors. Pt was muzzled for the exam. Objective BAR-H, MMs pink, BCS 6/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: Not performed PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Slightly tense, no masses palpated U/G: Male intact. Scrotum is extremely pendulous and the ventral aspect is ulcerated and crusty. Two testicles are palpable inside the scrotum. MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Normal externally Assessment: 1. Pendulous scrotum with ulcerated surface – R/O dermatitis vs. neoplasia vs. other 2. Estimated age based on pendulous scrotum is much older than reported age (on pedigree) Prognosis: Good Plan: 1. Neuter and scrotal ablation – recommend pre-op bloodwork SURGERY: Okay for surgery 1088
