10/05/16 15:07 Basic Information: Zeus is a 7 year old Jack Russell Terrier who was surrendered due to his previous owner moving out of the country. Socialization: Around strangers Zeus is friendly, outgoing and plays gently with adults. Zeus has lived with children ages 12 and older, around them he is relaxed and playful. Zeus has lived with one other large dog who he was relaxed and playful around. Zeus has also lived with two other cats who he was relaxed and playful around. Behavior: Zeus has never bitten another person or animal. Zeus has no behavior issues and is not bothered by loud sounds. Zeus is friendly when someone touches his food or bowl while he is eating, takes a treat/toy away, pushes/pulls him off of the furniture, holds/restrains him, gives him a bath, and brushes him. Zeus’s previous owner did not attempt to trim his nails so it is unknown how he will react to those events. If an unfamiliar person approaches Zeus’s family or home Zeus will bark at them at first then become friendly toward them. For a New Family to Know: Zeus is described as: friendly, affectionate, playful, confident and excitable with a medium activity level. When at home Zeus will follow around his owner and likes to play with balls, stuffed toys and squeaky toys. Zeus was kept indoor sonly and was fed both wet and dry food. Zeus is house trained and has accidents a few times a month. Zeus is well behaved when left alone at home or in a yard. Zeus knows the commands sit and likes brisk walks on a leash. Intake Behavior: Zeus began to growl at staff and did not allow them to collar him or pet him.

10/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Zeus previously lived with adults and children ages 12 and older. The owner stated Zeus is friendly towards strangers, adults and children. The owner mentioned Zeus has lived with a large dog and a cat and was relaxed and playful around each other. The owner describes Zeus as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident and excitable. It was reported by the owner Zeus is house trained, has a medium activity level and well behaved when home alone. At intake it was reported Zeus began to growl at the staff member, no handling was conducted due to his behavior. During SAFER Zeus came into the assessment room tense and fearful, he was not interested with the assessor. Not all handling items were able to be conducted as Zeus bared his teeth and growled at the assessor when attempting to approach him to pet him. He displayed no interest in the toy resource item during this portion of the assessment. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Zeus mostly keeps to himself as he wanders in a group of male and female dogs. He will offer correction to dogs that attempt to mount him.

10/07/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
According to Zeus’s previous owner, Zeus has lived with one other large dog that he was relaxed and playful around. 10/7-10/13: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Zeus mostly keeps to himself as he wanders in a group of male and female dogs. He will offer correction to dogs that attempt to mount him.
