08/22/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/22/16 18:48 Dog was surrendered because of landlord issues. Previous owner says that Zeus can be shy around strangers but within a few minutes will come up to them and allow them to pet him. He lived with an 18 month old boy and allowed the boy to play roughly with him, but he would play gently with the boy (ie- he would allow child to pull his tail, etc). he also plays gently with adults. zeus has lived with large and small dogs and likes to play gently with them. he has also lived with kittens. he would sniff them but otherwise leave them alone. zeus is anxious when left alone and will scratch walls and floors. he will growl if his food is taken away, but allows toys to be taken away. he will tolerate being held by his owner, and enjoys baths (he also enjoys using a blowdryer afterwards!). zeus loves being brushed. he has never had his nails trimmed. he will bark if someone unfamiliar comes to the house. zeus was described as friendly, affectionate, and independent. he has a medium activity level and loves to follow his owner around the house. he is used to eating dry food and taking off leash walks. off the leash, he will go off by himself but come back when called. at the acc, zeus stayed near his owner until she left. he then allowed counselor to pet and collar him. he snapped at the counselor when counselor tried to pick him up, but when the counselor backed off he resumed wagging his tail and allowed to be pet again. he followed counselor around the office on his leash.

He is described as friendly, affectionate, and independent. During intake, Zeus stayed close to owner, allowed collaring but snapped at counselor when attempting to pick him up. Zeus allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands. He stood still for Sensitivity item, soft. Zeus did not follow at the end of the leash for Tag game, though this may be due to medical reasons. He was unresponsive to each pass on Tag. Zeus did not pull his paw back on both Squeeze attempts. He showed no interest in Toy. The Behavior Team feels Zeus would do best with an Experienced adopter that does not have Young Children. He will benefit from a calm, quiet, structured environment at home. Look: 1.
