06/18/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: The kissing booth is open for business!!!! Waiting quietly in his kennel for a walk, Zeus begins to wag his tail the moment he sees me stop in front of him. Easily leashed we head to the yard, and as soon as I take Zeus off leash he’s in my lap for a kiss. And he stays in my lap for kisses, snuggles, and semi roll overs for a belly rub! An enthusiastic cuddler, his whole body shimmies with happiness at being close to his person. Zeus wears a shiny black coat, his eyes are like two bright new copper pennies, and he’s a snuggler extraordinaire! Running to the gate to investigate new people and other dogs coming into the yard, he looks back at me with a smile and then runs back for more hugs. With his great loving energy he’s bound to put an ear to ear grin on your face everyday! Zeus’ happy place is being near his person, and don’t you want to be that person? He’s looking forward to meeting you, so ask to meet him today!

06/18/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Zeus pulls hard on the leash. He was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up. Zeus was overexcited during handling, jumping up, and was hard to position, but showed no aggression. Zeus was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. He put body between assessor and toy, showing no growling or stiffness. Zeus is an active dog he need a significant amount of exercise and mental stimulation. The behavior department feels that he can go to an experience home. Look: 3. Dog jumps on the Assessor, consistently rubs his shoulder on the Assessor, and will not allow Assessor to conduct the assessment. Sensitivity: 2. Dog displays high energy and movement, but it is directed toward getting closer to the Assessor. His body is soft, likely panting, may jump up between attempts to lick Assessor. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 2. Dog takes toy away, keeps a firm hold. His body is between you and the toy, and he is loose and wiggly. No growling or stiffness. playgroup Notes: When off leash with other dogs, Zeus is aroused and runs after the helper dog in attempts to mount.

Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Zeus displays high levels of arousal while engaging in off-leash play with other dogs, often engaging in running chase play with intent to mount. He is currently unaltered. Zeus has not been introduced to a male while in our care. The behavior team feels that Zeus should have a pre-adoption interaction before placement with dogs. Zeus’s surrenderer did not cite history with other dogs, so in home behavior around them is unknown. 6/17: When off leash with other dogs, Zues is aroused and runs after the helper dog in attempts to mount. 6/19: Zeus engages in running chase play, attempting to mount when play ceases. 6/20: Zeus engages in running chase play, jumping on the helper dog as he catches up to her. 6/21, 22: Zeus engages in running play with intent to mount.
