ZEUS – 25662

Location: Manhattan; Intake Date: 4/20/18; Intake Type: Stray

Medical Behavior: Yellow; Sex: Male; Age: 4 years; Weight: 59 lbs

Original Location: 10467

DVM Intake Exam:Estimated age: 4yrs based on Pe and dentition  Microchip noted on Intake? scanned negative by LVT on intake. MC placed on intake.  History : found tied to a tree in the bronx.  Subjective / Observed Behavior – BAR, hard barking at handler. initially allowed handling but growled and whipped his head back during abdominal palpation. Muzzled for remainder of exam. Growled throughout body palpation. Objective:  BCS 5/9
EENT: Eyes clear, ears have crusts and mild exudate with erythema AU; no nasal or ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: dc 2/5; pd 2/5.  PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: No murmur ausculted; Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: testicles smooth and symmetrical.  MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, multifocal crusting along the dorsal lumbar region. 1cm pink soft, nonhaired mass along left lateral thigh.  CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: grossly normal. Assessment: otitis externa. dental calculus  periodontal disease  skin mass r/o benign vs malignant  dermatitis, healing.  Prognosis: good.  Plan: behavioral assessment consider trazadone based on behavior assessment. ear cleaning  claro otic  simplicef 200mg tablet — give 1 tablet PO q24h x 7 days.  SURGERY: Okay for surgery
