A volunteer writes: Zelda was on my list of dogs to meet. So, I asked : ” does anyone know where Zelda is? ” Everybody knew…Indeed, Zelda is a “popular girl”, a nice gal people and even other dogs want to hang around with…Her looks are a bit rough but under the rocky wrapping is a lovely, sweet and gentle soul. Life might have been tough on Zelda and yet, beside a very sensitive skin, her disposition is nothing but welcoming, sociable and affectionate. She is ready when you are, waiting by her door. Leashed in no time, she walks beautifully, not forgetting to do her business on the way. Many dogs are met, big ones, little ones, males and females. Zelda is super cool with them, wagging softly her tail. I observed her in one playgroup with exuberant MillieRock who treated her like a lady, so gently, as he saw that she was a little shy…It was a sweet encounter between two nice pooches. Zelda absolutely loves treats… She nursed a litter probably not that long ago, is quite thin and has some weight to catch up with. She gets all excited seeing chicken tenders but can sit on command for them. Her tail wags non stop… Zelda likes to be caressed although I have to be careful not to hurt her very swollen and red skin. She is such a good girl! We so would love for Zelda to get a taste of what it is to be a beloved pet. In loving and caring hands, she will bloom into a gorgeous “blue nose” and bless her new owner with her love and loyalty. Come and meet Zelda at the Manhattan Care Center. She so would love to be your friend, for ever.
