09/23/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/23/16 15:43 Zander is an adult male APBT mix. He was brought to ACC with 2 other dogs after they were removed from their apartment by police. Zander had a loose, wiggly body and wagging tail while we pet him, scanned him (-), collared him, and photographed him. He leaned against us while we pet him. He maintained a loose, wiggly body around the other 2 female dogs, sometimes putting his paws on their back, possibly attempting to mount them.
10/04/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Zander is so chill and easy I could walk him on leash just using my pinky if I wanted to. Squirrels in the park? What squirrels? Birds in the park? What birds? A connoisseur of all the scents the park has to offer, he walks nose to the ground, sniffing his way along. Zander has such unique coloring he reminds me of a caramel sundae (his body) with chocolate fudge (his face) on top — so sweet! He’s very reserved, and can be shy with some men, and as staff told me, he’s simply a “nice guy”. And that, he is! While I didn’t see it myself, I was told that he loves to roll around on the grass in the park, just enjoying its feel good — I love that. He wagged his tail hello at every kenneled dog we passed on our way back into the building, and when he saw his favorite staff person, he walked over for cuddles and just stood there gently wagging his tail as she hugged him. His first play date revealed a shy dog who approached the female with a sniff greeting, but ignored any attempt to play. I think that I’ve only seen the surface of Zander’s personality; in my heart I think there is a depth that may only open up in the warm embrace of a new family. There is no greater feeling than watching a dog open up and feel the love. Are you going to be the person to love Zander and be loved in return?
