04/05/2016 WEB MEMO
04/05/16 14:09 A staff member writes: Though his name may sound fierce, Wolverine is as sweet as can be! This midsized fella is one handsome man with his glowing caramel color and eyes to match. At two years old, he knows his manners; walking nicely on leash and using the bathroom outside, and still has his whole life to live! He is soft and bouncy with the female dogs he has met here, playing outside with them in the spring air. If you need a super hero in your life, come meet Wolverine in Brooklyn today!
03/23/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper dog: A1067486 Wolverine came in as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake it was reported Wolverine was nervous but allowed all handling. During SAFER Wolverine came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, he was friendly and social towards the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Wolverine was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Wolverine was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Wolverine appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, and lip neutral.
04/03/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs, Wolverine approaches and greets with a soft, loose body. He initially is a little sexually motivated but does engage in gentle play when solicited and reciprocates with shallow bows and follows the other dog around the pen. 4/5: Wolverine greets other dogs appropriately and was tolerant when a female dog was muzzle biting him. He reciprocates bouncy play and at times becomes sexually motivated and attempts mount. 4/6: Wolverine was used as a greeter dog and was soft when introduced to a new dog. He is bouncy in the pen and will correct appropriately for assertive behavior.
