A volunteer writes: I couldn’t help but sing “I am the Walrus” written by John Lennon to our walrus, who was clearly named tongue in cheek as he’s a little guy, not big like a walrus. Think of the finest needlepoint tapestry and that will describe his coat which is absolutely gorgeous. Compact and elegant, Walrus is a bit shy but warmed up following me around the pen. The person that found Walrus brought him home but her dog needs to be an only dog so she couldn’t keep him. We’re told that Walrus played nicely with her 6 year old child. Walrus explored our pen, greeted dogs in adjoining pens, lay his head in my lap for some petting, and after figuring out how to jump up on the bench came in my lap for some shy kisses and cuddles. Adorably small and delicious Walrus so badly wants to make friends and his shy approach makes him that much more endearing. He’s clearly been a cherished companion before joining us and is looking for a new snuggle partner. Come meet him today and serenade Walrus with the song written just for him…..
