During intake all handling was allowed from counselors to be scanned (negative), collared and photographed.

02/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Vikki came into our center after a member of the public found her as a stray. Finder reports overnight Vikki got along with children in the home. She barked when she saw small dogs on the street that barked at her. During intake she allowed all handling. She walked well on leash for her relief walk, no pulling. Vikki began shoulder rubbing at the positioning of Look item, requiring three full attempts. Once positioned, Vikki averted her eyes with relaxed body. She stood still and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, mouth open. Vikki was distracted and unresponsive during Tag game, focused on other stimuli. She gently pulled her paw back on both Squeeze attempts, shoulder rubbing in between both attempts. Vikki took Toy immediately, circled handler and attempted to solicit play, eventually settling down, a bit tense when approached by assess-a-hand. When off leash with other dogs, Vikki greets the other dog with a loose, wiggly and bouncy body and offers a play bow at the gate. She solicits and engages in rowdy, body slamming play with leap-overs and is tolerant of a rambunctious male player. The Behavior Team feels Vikki would do best with an Average adopter Look: 1. Shoulder rubbing at positioning. Dog’s eyes are averted, body relaxed. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position, mouth open Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor. She is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Shoulder rubbing in between attempts. Toy: 2. Dog takes toy away, attempts to engage handlers in play. Keeps a firm hold. A bit tense when approached by assess-a-hand. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Vikki greets the other dog with a loose, wiggly and bouncy body and offers a play bow at the gate. She solicits and engages in rowdy, body slamming play with leap-overs and is tolerant of a rambunctious male player. .
02/07/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Vikki greets the other dog with a loose, wiggly and bouncy body and offers a play bow at the gate. She solicits and engages in rowdy, body slamming play with leap-overs and is tolerant of a rambunctious male player. However, when meeting another female dog Vikki raised her hackles, tensed her body, targeted her and attempted to mount her. Due to her behavior in play group, the Behavior Department feels that Vikki could go to a home with a male dog of any play style. 2/08 update: Vikki met another female dog today and after a polite greeting, raised her hackles, tensed her body, targeted her and attempted to mount her. 2/17 update: Vikki greets with a loose body and play bows. She engages in play running/chase with other dogs and takes breaks when the energy gets too arousing. Vikki will correct with soft cheek nibbles to slow another dog down.
