EENT: No oculonasal discharge.
H/L: Lungs clear, no coughing. Pulses strong, synchronous.
ABD/UG: Mod. abdominal distension. Soft, non-painful. Bloody/purulent vulvar discharge.
MS: Amb x 4. Emaciated body condition BCS=1/5.
INTEG: Bloody material dried on perineum, tail, hind legs.
A: Open pyometra. Emaciated body condition.
P: Place IV catheter, start IV LRS at 70 ml/hr.
Baytril 22.7 mg/ml 4.2 ml IM.
Procaine Pen G. 2.85 ml SQ
Good prognosis with appropriate surgical management.
Informed New Hope of dog and her condition.

Recheck exam
O: QAR. mm=pink, moist, CRT<2 s. No vomiting/diarrhea.Urinated large amount when walked outside this AM. Ate all food overnight, drinking well/polydipsic.
H/L: HR=120, RR=16. Lungs clear. No murmurs/arrhythmias.
ABD/UG: Distended abdomen, mod. bloody, purulent vulvar discharge.
MS: Amb x 4. Emaciated body condition.
A: Open pyometra. Clincally stable.
P: Continue IV LRS at 70 ml/hr.
Start oral Clavamox 250 mg 1 PO BID. First dose given.
Continue oral Baytril 68 mg 1.5 PO q 24 hours. Due this PM.
Awaiting new Hope placement today.
Good prognosis with appropriate therapy.
