I am a female gray and white am pit bull ter mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 YEAR 6 MONTHS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 08/16/2016 from NY 11229, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

08/16/16 20:24 Unique is a gray and with white on her chest, American Pit. She appears to be 8 months old. She was found as a stray roaming a busy street. The finder noticed the dog and decided to bring the dog to ACC. During intake Unique was very excitable and playful. She jumped up to greet counselor. She allowed being collard, scanned and photographed.

Unique was surrendered by the client on 8/16/16; during intake Unique was very excitable and playful. During SAFER Unique came into the assessment room playful and energetic, she had a loose body posture when interacting with the assessor. Unique appears to have a high energy level and is mouthy throughout the assessment, when interacting with the assessor. Unique allowed all handling items to be conducted but continued to grab the rope in a playful manner. Unique joined in the game during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment. Unique appears to be sociable, she maintained a high level of energy, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Experienced” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is wagging with relaxed body posture she mouths hand no pressure. Dog’s mouth is open for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. mouths leash no pressure. Squeeze 1:1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed. Toy: 1. No interest. Unique was brought to the care center as a stray so her past behavior towards dogs is unknown. 8/17: When off leash at the care center Unique greets the other dog with a soft body. She enters the pen with a wiggly body, seeking the handler’s attention by repeatedly jumping on them. When the other dog approaches her, she becomes nervous; briefly exchanging sniffs before searching for the handlers again. 8/22: Unique engaged in running, bouncy chase play with body slams and leap overs with other male and female dogs.
