08/20/16 11:12 Basic information: Tyson is a 15 year old neutered male miniature poodle. He was bought from a breeder when he was a puppy. He was surrendered because his previous owner is moving and isn’t allowed to have pets. He has not been to the vet recently. Socialization: Around strangers Tyson is friendly and outgoing and exuberant when he plays with adults. He has spent time with children ages 0 to 6 and with them he was relaxed and playful and exuberant at play. He’s spent time with all types of dogs and is relaxed and playful and exuberant at play. Behavior: Tyson has never bitten a person or animal. He is nervous when he hears fireworks. His previous owner never attempted to touch his food bowl while he was eating. He was playful if a treat or toy was taken from him. He isn’t bothered if he is taken off furniture. He is friendly if he is picked up or held. He isn’t bothered if he is disturbed while sleeping. He is friendly if he is given a bath, he is afraid of having his coat brushed. He isn’t bothered if his nails are trimmed. He was friendly if an unfamiliar person approached his previous home or owner. For a New Family to Know: Tyson is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident and excitable with a medium activity level. His previous owner liked that he is loving. When his previous owner was home he would tend to follow her around. He liked to play with stuffed toys and his favorite games were fetch and tug. He was kept indoors only and at nigh he slept in his previous owner’s bed. He ate wet cesars and dry dog food. His favorite treats are grapes. He is house trained but poops off the wee wee pad if not taken out doors. He is well behaved when left alone indoors and in the yard. He is crate trained. He knows the cues, sit, come, down, and “get in cage”. He was taken on brisk walks 3 times daily. On leash he pulls lightly and off leash he wanders but comes when called. Behavior during intake: Tyson allowed me to pick him up, collar him, pet him and take his pictures. He had a wagging tail, gave kisses and showed no signs of aggression.

Tyson Came to the care center as an owner surrender citing housing issues. Owner reported that he has spent time with children under six years old and has been relaxed and playful with them. He has spent time with other dogs and is relaxed around them. It is reported he knows the cues sit, come, down, and “get in cage”. Upon intake, he had a wagging tail and allowed all handling. When being taken out of the cage, Tyson was growling. For his relief walk, Tyson walked well on leash. When in the assessment room he appeared social, approaching the assessor. He pulled his head out of the assessor’s hands three times for Look. When touching Tyson during Sensitivity, he head whipped and snapped at the assessor’s hand. Tag and Squeeze were skipped. He showed minimal interest in Toy, sniffing it. When approaching another dog on leash at the care center, Tyson approaches with tail above spine level, body soft. Tyson can be placed with a New Hope partner. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 5. Dog head whips and snaps at Assessor’s hand. Tag: Skipped. Squeeze: Skipped. Toy: Minimal interest. Dog sniffs toy. Dog to Dog: When approaching another dog on leash at the care center, Tyson approaches with tail above spine level, body soft.
