12/21/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Heartbreaker alert! Glowing with good health, well-muscled, with a large, noble head, Tyler has a flirtatious twinkle in his eye that says: Wanna play? He’s game for fetch and could also probably do some sumo wrestling, but that’s not really Tyler’s style. Though on the larger side, he is also unexpectedly gentle, with a cute, sashaying gait that calls to mind a runway model. He walks patiently on the leash, ignores dogs we pass along the way, and wants to say hello to people, not realizing how intimidating his heft must be to them. If they only knew! All Tyler wants is a little sniff of you and maybe a soft pat along the flanks. Underneath his solid athlete’s build is a huge heart yearning for a place to call home. Could it be yours? Find out today at Brooklyn ACC!

With further playgroup sessions, Tyler solicits and engages in high energy play with male and female dogs. He may attempt to mount male and female dogs, but occasionally responds to hander interruptions and continues to play. He is initially slightly sexually motivated, but loses interest and wanders in the pen as the session continues. 12/12: Tyler greets another intact male with a stiff, assertive posture- head and tail high, spine level to the ground. The two dogs greet and then step back, then greet and circle again, all while maintaining their stiff posturing. The handler interrupts this behavior and both dogs back away, shake off and explore the yard separately mostly avoiding each other for the remainder of the session. 12/18: Tyler greets a neutered male dog with loose and wiggly body language. He solicits and engages in gentle play. 12/19: Tyler was a bit overwhelming for a gentle female dog today and when he continued to solicit play by physically bouncing off her, she corrected him but he did not respond. 12/20: In a group of playful male and female dogs, Tyler engages and solicits in high energy play. He may mount male and female dogs, but continues to play when solicited. 12/21: Tyler persistently mounts male and female dogs, ignoring handler interruptions, and is removed from the group. 12/22: Tyler is tolerant of a female mounting him and attempts to engage in play. 12/23-12/27: Tyler engages in high energy, body contact play in a group of playful male and female dogs.
