Slow and gentile, walks well on lead
05/02/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Perhaps named after Twyla Tharp, our Twyla’s moves are slow, gentle, easy and classic. So quiet in her kennel, lying down and watching the activity pass her, she’s ready when I am, getting up to be easily leashed. Lovely on leash, her tail wags slightly when we talk to her, and in the park she eyes the other dogs quietly, hoping for a playdate. So respectful! In her first group play with both males and females, she greets politely and offers paw slaps to solicit play. Twlya looks like she’s been a mom a few times, has callouses on her pressure points and may not have had the cushiest life prior to joining us. Beautiful, soft and mellow eyes survey her new environment, and she’s a bit camera shy, turning her head away as I pointed the lens at her. Her eyes seem to say, I’ve done a lot, and experienced much and am ready to settle down to be the pampered pet I’ve always wanted to be. She’s a gem, enjoying a good massage from a volunteer, going nose to nose and wagging her tail gently at a small dog on a retractable leash that ran up to us, and has that mellow, sweet disposition that calls out ‘this is best friend material’. Twyla hated going back into her kennel, and as I kissed her goodbye I promised her a new person or family to love. Please help my promise to this gentle girl come true and ask to meet her today.
