She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity:1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag:1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1& 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy: 1. PLAYGROUP: When off leash at the Care Center, Truffles displays a nervous posture-tucked tail, when introduced to a group of calm dogs. She briefly exchanges sniff, before wandering the pens. Truffles was brought in as a stray so her behavior around other dogs are unknown. The Behavior Department recommends Truffle be placed in a home with respectful resident dogs that match her calm demeanor. All introductions should be done slowly and under supervision. INTAKE BEHAVIOR 8/27/17: Upon intake Truffles was loose and wiggly, she allowed all handling. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 8/27/17: During her medical examination, Truffles was loose and wiggly, she allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Truffles so we cannot be certain of her behavior in a home environment. However, she is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep her engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct her energy and enthusiasm. RECOMMENDATIONS: Average (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)
