A volunteer writes:

Tricks are for kids but Trixie, she’s for everyone. She is quiet as a mouse in her kennel but her tiny frame is all wiggle, wiggle, wag from the moment she spots me and at the mere prospect of a walk. She hops out with ease and off for a stroll we go, where Trixie tends to business straight away, showing off her girly yet elegant walk. Trixie stays right at my side, ignoring the hustle and bustle of the city, but pauses often to look up at me with that sweet, vanilla face seemingly full of questions. “Is this OK?” Of course it is and then some. And I’m happy as a clam being spotted out and about with such a petite and delicate beauty. Free in a pen 3 year-old Triixie is effortlessly calm and sweet, sitting still as a statue as she waits for a treat. And while some staff members play exuberantly with another pup next door Trixie only has eyes for me scooting even closer for pets and hugs. Tricks are for kids but Trixie? She’s actually only for someone very special. Someone who will love her forever, who will always be there to tell her “it’s OK,” and will keep safe and protect her heart. Trixie is waiting in adoptions at Manhattan ACC.
Another volunteer writes:   When both a fellow volunteer and staff tell me how much they love a dog I pay attention.   And, it’s now official, I love her too!   She’s an itty bitty little girl, who poses for photos with a serious, ‘I’ve got this’ face, which shows off her cute little pouty bottom lip. Sexy Trixie.  We take a short walk, and then cuddle together on my favorite doorstep, Trixie sitting close and perking up when I reach for some treats.  Like the perfect lady she is she takes treats gently, and then gently spits out the first one when
not to her liking.  Luckily I have another which she likes so much better, giving me a thank you kiss when she’s done nom noming…..Pixie Trixie is that quiet companion to whom you can tell all your secrets, and she’ll love you anyway and always.  We all need a little Trixie in our lives….come meet her today.
