06/02/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Trixie came into the shelter as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. Upon intake Trixie it was stated Trixie was friendly and allowed all handling. During SAFER Trixie came into the assessment room calm and friendly, she was social toward the assessor. She allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Trixie was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment Trixie was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Trixie appears to be sociable, and did not display any behavior concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1 & 2: 2. Dog quickly pulls back. Toy: 1. No interest. Dog-Dog:Trixie was surrendered as a stray to her past behavior around dogs is unknown. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Trixie is a bit nervous.
