09/17/16 20:41 BASIC INFORMATION Tony is a tan and white American Bull dog that is 9 years old. The owner recieved Tony as a gift. The owner is surrendering Tony because he is moving out of the country. Tony has no known illness. SOCIALIZATION Tony has lived with 2 adults in the house. He is very affectionate and playful. He has lived with small children ages 13 and up. He relaxed with the teenager in the home and seeks for attention .When stranger come to visit Tony becomes tense, he barks and lunges. He is escorted to the bedroom when new people arrive. Tony has never lived with cats or dogs. BEHAVIOR Tony allows all handling. He is relaxed around the family. He allows receiving baths, having his food bowl touched while eating & removing toys from his mouth. He is house trained and walked 3 times a day. Tony guards the owner and any family member in the home. He is barks, lunges and growls. But he has never had a bite history. When the owner is doing errands he is confined in the living with a baby gate. FOR NEW FAMILIES TO KNOW Tony is described as affection, playful and anxious. Tony favorite activity is to follow the family around the house. His sometimes like chew bones and balls. However he enjoys walks around the neighborhood or the park. Tony knows the commands sit, stay come and lay (mostly in Spanish). His favorite dog food is pedigree dry and wet mixed. Tony’s favorite placed to sleep is the owner’s bed.

The former owner stated that reason for surrender was Tony’s aggressive behavior (notes difficulty managing). SAFER ASSESSMENT: 9/27/16 Summary: Due to fear-based aggression displayed in shelter, Tony is not an appropriate candidate for an assessment at this time. PLAYGROUP: 9/26/16 When off leash at the care center, Tony hesitates to greet the helper dog and paces the pen for most of the session. Eventually he does allow a short greeting and tolerates her mounting him. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 09/26/16 Tony had a limited medical exam as he displayed nervous/aggressive behavior; allows no form of direct contact.
