History : Subjective: Observed Behavior -; Objective ; P = 128 R = 24 BCS = 4/9; EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted; Oral Exam: not performed (muzzled); PLN: No enlargements noted; H/L: nsf; NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic; ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated; U/G: intact, mild bruising and skin abrasions around scrotum; MSI: Ambulatory x 3, non-weight bearing lameness on right rear leg with deep skin abrasion (“road rash”) to cranial aspect of stifle with mod. swelling of right stifle; open deep skin wound (“road rash”) on dorsal surface of right front paw/carpus region; free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat; CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities; Rectal: not performed; Assessment: right rear stifle trauma + wound to right front paw r/o hit by car vs other; Prognosis: open – fair; Plan: cage rest + pain meds + sedated wound cleaning and radiographs + seek NH placement + 1.8 ml Convenia SQ once + 1.8 ml Cerenia SQ and 60 mg PO SID x 3 days + carprofen 75 mg PO SID x 5 days + hydro. 0.9 ml SQ BID x 5 days SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to health.
