Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
My name is Todd. I am shy around other dogs, but I do like them, especially the ladies. I have a hard time meeting new humans, but I am willing to try. I would rather not be pushed into awkward situations, I need time to adjust but once I do, I am sweet guy. I do great when I am lounging around with my buddies. Come down to Brooklyn Animal Care Centers and meet me.

Recommendations comments:: New hope partner: Todd has not acclimated well to the kennel environment and has not allow any handling since intake. We recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based) and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
Potential challenges: : Fearful
Potential challenges comments:: Fearful: Todd has been observed to display fearful behavior during his stay at our care centers, at times avoiding interaction and shying away from direct touch. Todd startles easily and is made uncomfortable by loud noises and sudden movement. He displays proper warning signals as well as increasing distance from anything that may present a threat. We cannot be certain if any other behavior is suppressed as a result of his environment. A period of decompression is advised before introduction or exposure to new and unfamiliar situations. Force-free, reward based training is advised.
