03/03/2017 WEB MEMO

A volunteer writes: Twinkle, twinkle, tiny star…How happy was I to finally see Tiny Star’s sweet, shining face in adoptions after knowing her only through her kennel during her DOH (Department of Health) stay. Aptly named, Tiny is just that. A slip of a girl in dressed in caramel and cream and sweetly worried brow. “There she is!” a staff member cries as she catches us enjoying some cuddles outside in the yard. “She’s just the sweetest isn’t she?” And indeed she is as she curls between my legs and gives me puppy dog eyes for treats. Moments later our popular girl and I are joined by yet another staff member here to say “hello” to our resident beauty queen. Tiny immediately showers him with kisses, fitting neatly into his lap like a missing piece of a puzzle, and closes her eyes as he massages her butter soft coat. Tiny Star walks well on leash, appears to be housebroken, and though a bit underweight takes treats nicely from your hand. Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky…except not high at all, right here, and waiting. Tiny Star is waiting in adoptions at Manhattan’s ACC.
