04/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper dog: A1067889 Timber came in as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake it was reported Timber quiet and was loose for all handling. During SAFER Timber came into the assessment room nervous and panting, not all handling items were able to be conducted as Timber head flips and snaps at the assessor on sensitivity item. He displayed no interest in the toy item during this portion of the assessment. When on leash for a dog interaction with another dog on leash Timber approach the helper dog with his body soft and tail at spine. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a new hope partner who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Look: 3. Dog avoids the assessor and unable to hold his face to conduct look item. Sensitivity: 5. Dog head flips and snaps at the assessor. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, and lip neutral.
