06/05/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
06/05/17 14:28 Basic: Tiger is a large 3 year old female dog. Her owner adopted her from ACC and has had her for 1 week but is surrendering her because of allergies. She has not had any injuries, but has had a cough while with her new owner. She has not been to the vet while with her new family. Socialization: Tiger is super friendly around strangers and loves all people. She has been around children in the home, ages 6 and 8 years and with them is relaxed and playful. She plays exuberantly with both adults and children. She has spent time around smaller dogs (cocker spaniel, jack russel, shih tzu) while with her new owner and was wary of these dogs coming into her home, she would keep her eye on them and growl a little here and there but never initiated and altercation. One of the dogs barked at her a lot when she first came to her new home and she was uncomfortable around this dog. She plays with other dogs somewhat rough. She did not spend time with cats or other pets. Tiger does not have a bite history. Behavior: Tiger is very well behaved, both when her owners are at home and when they leave her alone. She is not destructive. She isnt bothered by loud noises. She let people touch her food while she is eating, and also let them take treats out of her mouth. She play growls when she has a toy in her mouth and someone tries to take it away. She isnt bothered when pushed off furniture, or when she is held, or when disturbed while resting. Her owner didnt give her a bath, brush her, or trim her nails. He can touch her feet. She wont bark but will howl when somone rings the doorbell and is friendly when strangers approach her owner. For new family: Tiger is friendly, affectionate, playful and sometimes shy. Her enegry levell is high, her owner loves how sweet she is. She loves to play fetch and tug with balls and rope toys. She has been kept mostly indoors and sleeps on a dog bed that is in her owner’s bedroom. She likes Blue Buffalo dry food and likes raw hide treats. She is very house trained and has not had an accident. Outside she likes to go in the grass. She knows “sit, stay, down, and paw” commands. For exercise she likes to go running or for a brisk walk. She pulls on the leash and has not been off leash. During intake Tiger was very friendly with a loose wiggly body and was giving the counselor kisses. She allowed all collaring and handling.
06/07/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Tiger immediately appealed to me when I saw her in her kennel. A lovely “tiger” brindle with Labbish ears sprinkled with Boxer genes…Ancestry.com, we need you here. She looks so gentle and sweet. Definitely a must to take out, walk and spend time with. Tiger is no disappointment. She is a good walker, does her business on the way, sits beautifully on command, no treat needed and gives paw…right and left. She is very compliant and a real pleasure to spend time with. She comes on the lap upon request and is only too happy to curl up with her caretaker. I really loved my time with her last night. Tiger is known to be good with cats and dogs and of course, children. She is very affectionate, energetic, playful, free of handling issues and a good girl when left alone in the house. She has been social and proper in our playgroups involving males and females. In a nutshell, Tiger is a lovely and very dear little girl who will make a wonderful companion to the one who will choose her as his or her forever best friend. Come to the Manhattan Care Center, ask for Tiger and make her yours.
