Esthetically, Thunder is a beautiful representative of the Rottweilers breed. He is a masterpiece and a head turner. He has been remarkably well fed and well cared for. Thunder has been a few days with us and beside for the fact that he understandably does not want to go back to his kennel, he has been quite well behaved and friendly to whoever handled him. Owned since age 2 months, he was relinquished to us, though, because he did , according to his former master, show aggression toward the small dog of the house as well as a small child while being friendly to adults, an older child and large dogs….Thunder is welcoming in his kennel and leashed easily. He was not walked in the street but in the yard and strolled majestically, heeling perfectly and was happy to get treats from an admiring crowd. He sat on command very peacefully and accepted politely more dry lung bits.He got his chance at playgroup with a lovely gal, Remy , ran with her and did not show any aggression toward her, just trying to mount her persistently… Sooo expected from an un neutered male. Remy enjoyed the game for a while, then conscious of the difference in size, elected to perch herself on a bench and seek the protection of her caretakers…All in smooth moves, though…Thunder is a gorgeous dog who has friendly and sociable sides but because of his alleged past, should go to an experienced new owner who may be with the help of a trainer could assess his strengths and weaknesses. Thunder is quite young and probably could learn all the good manners that make a great dog. Thunder is at the Manhattan Care Center, dreaming of a wonderful life with is new master and teacher.
