I am a male tan and white am pit bull ter mix. The shelter thinks I am about 3 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 05/03/2016 from NY 11236, owner surrender reason stated was MOVE2PRIVA. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-055990.

05/04/16 11:54 Basic Information: Thriller is a 3 three old American Pit Bull Terrier who was surrendered due to his previous owner having to move to a place where animals are not allowed. Socialization: Around strangers Thriller is friendly, outgoing, and plays gently with adults. Thriller has lived with children age 3, around them Thriller is relaxed, affectionate, and plays gently with them. Thriller has ben around other dogs of various ages and is playful and gentle around them.Thriller does not do well around cats and tends to lunge and bark at them. Thriller has never bitten another person or animal. Behavior: Thriller has good behavior an isn’t bothered by loud sounds such as thundeerstorms and fireworks. Thriller is not bothered by someone touching his food or bowl while he is eating, taking a treat away or taking a toy/object away. Thriller is not bothered by someone pushing/pulling him off of the furniture, giving him a bath, trimming his nails, brushing his coat, or holding/restraining him. If an unfamiliar person approaches his family/ home Thriller is friendly toward them. Thriller is not bothered when someone disturbes him while he is resting/sleeping. For a New family to Know: Thriller is described as: friendly, affectionate, playful, and excitable with a medium activity level. When at home Thriller will follow around his owner and likes to play with balls, stuffed toys, squeaky toys and chew toys. Thriller likes to play fetch, tug and chase. Thriller has been kept indoorsonly and was fed both dry and wet food twice a day. Thriller is mostly house trained and rarely has any accidents. Whan left alone Thriller is well behaved. When Thriller is is left alone in a yad he will bark. Thriller knows the commands: sit, come, down, stay, go inside, go outside, “don’t move”. For exercise Thriller will go for off leash walks, slow and brisk walks, runing, jogging and playing in the yard. Thriller will pull lightly on a leash and when off leash will stay close by your side. Thriller will usuallly go to the bathroom on the grass. Intake Behavior: Thriller allowed staff to collar,scan for a microchip and take pictures with no signs of aggression.

Thriller previously lived with adults and a 3 year old child. The owner stated Thriller is relaxed, affectionate and gentle around the children. The owner mentioned Thriller does not do well around cats and tends to lunge and bark at them. The owner describes Thriller as friendly, affectionate, playful, and excitable. It was reported by the owner Thriller is house trained, has a medium activity level and well behaved when home alone. At intake it was reported Thriller was friendly and allowed all handling. During SAFER Thriller came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, he was friendly and playful towards the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Thriller joins the game during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Thriller was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Thriller showed some concerns during dog to dog interaction, so the department feels he can be suitable for an expereince adopter and we recommend no cats in the household. Look: 1. Dog leans forward or jumps up to lick the Assessor’s face with tail wagging, ears back and eyes averted. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy 1: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. dog-dog: The previous owner reported that Thriller has been around other dogs of various ages and is playful and gentle around them. When off leash with other dogs at the Care Center, Thriller hard barked at the gate and was muzzled before being allowed into the pen. Once the muzzle was on, Thriller was preoccupied with trying to get it off and did not notice the greeter dog.
