04/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Tetris came in as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake it was reported Tetris was calm and relaxed, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Tetris came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, he was friendly and social towards the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Tetris was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Tetris was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Tetris appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Toy 1: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Tetris approaches the gate and greets with somewhat nervously with hesitation but soft. Once in the pen he does not interact further with the helper dog but wanders the pen exploring his environment.
