06/01/16 12:03 BASIC INFO Terry A1075858 is an approximately 5 year old chihuahua mix. he is being surrendered to the shelter because the owner is going to be evicted from their home. Terry was a gift to the owner 3 years ago. Terry does not have any health concerns. SOCIALIZATION Terry is friendly around strangers. He plays gentle with adults. Terry has lived with two 5 year old children. he was warm, loving and respectful of the children. He played gentle with the kids. Terry has lived with a cat and he was very friendly, affectionate and playful with the cat. Terry has never bitten anyone. BEHAVIOR Terry does not have any behavior issues. He allows you to take away his food bowl, water bowl or toy away. If an unfamiliar approaches the doorway or the owner, Terry barks. Terry allows you to bathe him. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Terry is best described as friendly affectionate and playful. He has a high activity level. He enjoys playing with any kind of dog toy. He does not know commands. He has been kept mostly indoors. he eats dollar Store brand dry food and table food. He is house trained and will go potty on wee-wee pads if not taken outside. For exercise he is walked on a leash. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Terry allowed all handling, collaring and photos.

Terry was difficult to remove from his kennel showing teeth, growling. Once he was removed from his kennel he is fearful of the shelter environment he walks with a low and fearful body language. He was fearful and repeatedly attempted to get away from the handler during the assessment. Terry wrinkles his muzzle and snaps at the assessor during the look item. The behavior team decided to skip the handling part of the assessment for safety reasons. During the resources Terry was not interested in toys. Terry was surrender to us. According to his previous owner he is friendly affectionate and playful. He has a high activity level. Terry is friendly around strangers. He plays gentle with adults. Terry has lived with two 5 year old children. He was warm, loving and respectful of the children. He played gentle with the kids. Terry has lived with a cat and he was very friendly, affectionate and playful with the cat. He allows you to take away his food bowl, water bowl or toy away”. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. PLNs: Not enlarged. H/L: NSR, NMA. Eupnic, quiet lung sounds. Abd: Tense, no pain on palpation, no masses palpated M/S/I: Reducible umbilical hernia. Amb x4. No skin lesions noted.
