04/29/16 14:17 Terrah is an eleven year old male American Pitbull terrier. He was surrendered by his owner due to personal problems. He was with his owner since he was a puppy. He is described as gentle, friendly and affectionate. Terrah has lived with two adults in the home. He is described as friendly around strangers and will engage in gentle play. Around other dogs and cats he is relaxed and playful. He has never bitten another animal or person. Terrah will destroy items in the home when left alone. Owner stated he will chew at couch pillows and fabrics. He is fearful when he hears yelling and will bark and hide. He is not bothered when his food is touched while eating or when a treat or toy is taken away. He is bathed once a week and enjoys bathing. He is fearful when his nails are trimmed and will pull his paws away. When held or restrained he will struggle and try to get out the hold. Terrah’s activity level is described as medium, he likes to play with balls and chew bones. He has been kept only indoors and is housetrained. He is walked twice a day and will never use the bathroom indoors. He eats Alpo brand dog food and is fed twice a day. His favorite treat is steak. Upon intake Terrah was calm and had a loose body, he allowed all handling. Counselor was able to collar, scan (positive) and photograph.

Terrah previously lived with 2 adults. The owner describes Terrah as gentle, friendly and affectionate. The owner mentioned when around other dogs and cats Terrah is relaxed and playful towards them. It was reported by the owner Terrah will destroy items in the home when left alone such as couch pillows and fabrics. The owner also stated Terrah is house trained, and has a medium activity level. intake it was reported Terrah was calm with loose body posture, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Terrah came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, he was friendly and playful towards the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Terrah joins the game during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Terrah was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Terrah is reported to be chewing on furniture when left alone for long periods, so we advise future adopters to make sure to provide mentally and physically stimulating, appropriate chew toys to keep Terrah occupied when left alone. The behavior department feels he can be suitable for an experience adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy 1: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Dog-dog: Terrah previously lived with two other dogs and was reported to be friendly and playful around them.
