A volunteer writes: What do you do when the sweetest dog ever clearly wants to cuddle but you know it must hurt him to do just that? You cuddle gently, softly, stroke the little bit of fur he has on his body, and kiss the tip of his sweet nose. Watching Templeton’s tail wag as he snuggles up to everyone makes my heart hurt. He loves to have his chin scratched and raises his head like a cat to give me better access. He plays briefly with a toy as his tail wags, going from person to person in the room to say hello. In the yard he walks nicely on leash, ignoring other dogs in the pens we pass. Templeton
was found wandering in the street, and it’s clear he’s been neglected for a very long time. He needs love, nutritious food, and to see a vet for his skin. Good food, some inexpensive meds and medicated baths will go a long way to getting this sweetheart back into the stunning boy he probably is. If his looks come close to matching his amazing personality, someone is going to be incredibly lucky. Templeton isn’t going to let his poor condition effect his ability to love people, to love life, and look forward to a happily ever after and neither should you.
