KNOWN HISTORY: None 3/5/17 Intact Male, Stray SAFER ASSESSMENT: 3/7/17 Look:1. Dog leans forward or jumps up to lick the Assessor’s face with tail wagging, ears back and eyes averted. Sensitivity:1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag:1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1&2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Summary: Templeton was social and playful towards the assessor. DOG-DOG INTERACTION ASSESSMENT: Summary PLAYGROUP: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Templeton solicits and engages in gentle play. With further play group sessions, Templeton is able to respond to corrections from other dogs when he engages in behaviors they do not like. He does not respond to her corrections and escalates to jumping on her back. After being interrupted by handlers he wanders in the pen. 3/7: When a playful male dog, Templeton displays loose and wiggly body language. He solicits and engages in gentle play, tolerating mounting from the other male dog. 3/8: Templeton engages in and solicits gentle play in a group of playful male and female dogs. He listens to corrections from other dogs when he attempts to mount a female and engages in body contact play.
