03/12/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
TeeTee came to us as an owner surrender due to the owner having a newborn child. According to the owner TeeTee is friendly towards everyone in the household, but was a bit fearful of the newborn baby. TeeTee is reported to growl when around other dogs but will not attack. TeeTee entered the behavior room with nervous body language and did not seem very interested in interacting with the assessor. He allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile assessment items though having slightly fearful and nervous body language throughout the assessment. He showed no interest in the toy on this portion of the evaluation. When on an on-leash dog interaction TeeTee had stiff body language and growled. The behavior department believes that TeeTee can go to an experienced adopter at this time. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body soft but nervous, mouth closed, lip long, ears back, lip lick. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Dog may lick hand. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: 4. Dog approaches the helper dog with stiff body language, and growls.
