Hello, my name is Teddy . My animal id is #10021. I am a male tan dog at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 5 years old.
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 17-Oct-2017, with the surrender reason stated as animal behaviour – barks too much.
Teddy 10021 is at risk for behavior challenges (New Hope Only determination). Teddy has allowed no handling or interaction in the care center, requiring sedation for his veterinary examination. He quickly escalates to warning behaviors (growling, lunging) at both humans and other dogs, outside and inside his kennel. We recommend placement into an adult-only home through a New Hope partner and very careful interactions in order to prevent escalation to biting. Medically, Teddy is matted and will need to be groomed.
