01/17/17 14:13 Basic information Taz is a 7 year old APBT with no know medical conditions. Owner has had Taz for 2 years and is surrendering because they are moving. Socialization Taz has lived with children ages 7- 19 and was relaxed and affectionate with them. Taz played gently with adults and children. Taz has not lived with cats but will chase stray cats outside. Taz has not lived with dogs but has been introduce to them. Around female dogs Taz is respectful, playful and plays gently with them. Around male dogs Taz will bark and lunge towards them. Around strangers Taz is friendly and outgoing. Behavior During storms and fireworks Taz will bark. Taz isn’t bothered when having his food bowl touched or having toys and treats taken away. Taz enjoys being brushed and will stay still for you to wash him. Taz has not had his nails trimmed by previous owner. Taz isn’t bothered when being pushed off furniture or being held and restrained. When someone unfamiliar approaches the door gets excited and will greet them. For the new family to know Taz was described as friendly and affectionate with a low activity level. Taz enjoys playing with ropes, bones and sticks and knows hoe to play fetch. . When home with Taz he will follow you around seeking attention. Taz is house trained and use to get walked 4 times a day. If Taz isn’t able to be walked he is trained to use the bathroom in the bathtub. Taz pulls hard on the leash and is use to going to the bathroom on grass. When off the leash outside Taz will wander around but come back when called. (only been let off leash when no one is around). Taz doesn’t like to go outside for a long time when it snows. Taz eats a mix of wet and dry food twice a day and is use to the brands Pedigree and Beniful. Taz knows the command sit , stop and go lay down. When its time for bed Taz likes to sleep with you or on a blanket on the floor. Behavior during intake During intake Taz was anxious and curious. Taz allowed to be scanned and collared with no problem and allowed all handling.

He bit an intoxicated man on the face when he bent down to pet Taz. This bite did not break skin. Housetrained: Yes Energy level/descriptors: Taz is described as friendly and affectionate with a low activity level. Other notes: Taz recently snapped at a child when he pet Taz on the head. This behavior may have been influenced by a medical condition (ear infection). SAFER ASSESSMENT: 1/19/17 Look:1. Dog’s eyes are averted.
