09/07/16 12:12 Upon intake Tawny was extremely friendly. She greeted everyone in the lobby. She allowed all handling by counselor. Scanning, collaring and photograghs were easily done. As per owner Tawny is 1 year old. He lived in in the home with one other dog and a cat.She never showed any aggresion towards the cat or the other dog in the home. Client stated there were often children around and Tawny was always playful and tolerant of the children. Tawny eats dry food. She is house broken. She has never been crate trained. When on the leash she pulls hard from excitement. She plays with chew toys as well as balls. She is not distructive in the home and does not chew on furnitire. Tawny has an extremely high energy level but does sit when told. She enjoys treats and being rubbed. According to owner there is no food aggression. She can be touched while eating and does not object when food bowl is moved

Tawny previously lived with adults, a cat, and another dog and has been around children. The owner stated Tawny is friendly and playful around strangers, adults and children. The owner mentioned Tawny lived with a cat and another dog and was fine around each other. It was reported by the owner Tawny is house broken, has a high energy level and is well behaved when home alone. At intake it was reported Tawny was very friendly and allowed all handling. During SAFER Tawny came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, she was friendly and social towards the assessor. She allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Tawny joins the game during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Tawny was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Tawny appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy: 1. No interest. Dog-Dog: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Tawny displays soft, loose and wiggly body language as she socializes with a male dog. She greets him often as she explores the pen.

According to Tawny’s owner, Tawny never showed any signs of aggression towards the dog that she lived with. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Tawny displays loose and wiggly body language when greeting male and female dogs. She engages in and solicits gentle play. She is tolerant of dogs that display aggressive behavior towards her. She is utilized as a greeter dog and displays loose and wiggly body language when greeting novel males and attempts to solicit gentle play. The Behavior Department recommends that Tawny be placed in a home with dogs that match her gentle play style. 9/8: Tawny displays soft, loose and wiggly body language as she socializes with a male dog. She greets him often as she explores the pen. 9/9: Tawny displays loose and wiggly body language when greeting male and female dogs. She engages in and solicits gentle play. She is tolerant of dogs that display aggressive behavior towards her. 9/10-9/13: Tawny displays loose and wiggly body language when socialized with male and female dogs. She is tolerant of play solicitations but does not engage. 9/14: Tawny is utilized as a greeter dog.
