Tangerine came into the shelter as a stray on 7/14/16, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. Behavior during Intake: Tangerine and was relaxed, and allowed all handling. During SAFER Tangerine came into the assessment room relaxed and calm. Tangerine had a loose body posture when interacting with the assessor; she allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Tangerine was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment. Tangerine was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Tangerine appears to be sociable, and did not display any behavior concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1:1 Dog gently pulls back her paw Squeeze 2: 1 Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy: 1. No interest. Dog-Dog:Tangerine appropriately greets both males and females when introduce to the group. She explores her surrounding while keeping to herself.
