I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 08/17/2016 from NY 11214, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

08/23/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY

Swiss roll was bought into the care center on 8/17/16; his past behaviors in a home are unknown. Behavior during Intake: Swiss roll was very timid, but allowed all handling. During SAFER Swiss Roll came into the assessment room calm and relaxed when interacting with the assessor, Not all handling items were able to be conducted as Swiss Roll bared his teeth and low growled at the assessor when attempting to fix his collar. Swiss Roll became stiff on toy item and began low growl. Toy 1: 4. Dog freezes and growls. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Playgroup:When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Swiss Roll greets the other dog displaying soft body language. He mostly keeps to himself as he explores the pen.
