A volunteer writes: Sweet potatoes are so delicious what ever way you cook them. Our very own Sweet Potato is one tasty treat anyone would love to spend time with. She is a cute little gal all happy to be in company. When I came to her door, she dropped the giant bone she was chewing on and came forward to be leashed. Her tail was wagging, her head was tilted and she made very sweet eyes at me. Who could resist such a pooch? Sweet Potato is a great walker, does her business on the way, kind of ignores the birds and is cool with other dogs met. She barks through a fence at other dogs but when given a chance to meet off leash her peers, she greets politely. Sweet Potato enjoys her free time in the yard. She is a cute very medium size gal with a crumpled ear and another one that stands straight on her head when she sits for treats. She absolutely loves to cuddle with her human caretaker and be smushed all over in an interminable petting session. Sweet Potato is a very affectionate female whose name fits her perfectly. She seems like the perfect loyal forever best friend. Come and meet her soon at the Manhattan Care Center. Another volunteer writes: “One potato, two potato, ‘sweet’ potato more”. What a dream our sweet girl is. So easy on the leash, you could walk her with just your pinky, likely housetrained, ignores other dogs we pass, and polite, gently playful in group with other females (males not so much), softly affectionate with people with kisses and hugs, loves treats and takes them gently — she’s just a love! Sweet Potato is being fed an extra meal every day to help her gain a little weight. Her soft face and easy peasy personality impressed our behavior assessors so much they say she will be a good fit into any home with average dog experience. There’s nothing average about our girl though, she’s terrific and we’re in love.
