A volunteer writes:

Sunshine came to us with girlfriend Sprinkler  a “little dog” named Shorts and a cat, four musketeers found in an empty apartment as their family was evicted. Sunshine is for the most part rather quiet in his kennel but always sitting or laying by his door. He often makes snoozing sounds and very sweet eyes , trying to lure a potential caretaker into taking him out….I can not resist him ! He is the cutest… Perfectly groomed, dressed in a multi pattern coat, dots and stripes, well built and healthy. He owns one of the largest smile I ever saw on a Pitie. Sunshine pulls quite a bit on the leash and does his business at once . He jumps a lot for treats or a ball but can sit briefly on command. He does not mouth or play with the leash and likes to be caressed. He is energetic and a bit anxious like his female companion. Both of them have been outstandingly cared for and most likely loved. It is a shock  to find themselves separated from each other, their humans and their home. When he arrived at the care center, Sunshine “forced himself”onto the counselor’s lap for hugs….”Must love !”A big needy baby.. He reminds me a little of a bucking horse, although I must say that having spent some  time with him, Sunshine is a bit more tamed by now. He has lived only with female dogs(and a cat) and we do not truly know how he is with males “in real life”. Sunshine is a very good looking young man, clearly a family dog who fell out of luck, buoyant, sociable and affectionate  who most likely will need some training to bring him to the pace of any new household he will belong to. Come and meet this lively youngster at the Manhattan Care Center !
