Sugar
Hello, my name is Sugar. My animal id is #11161. I am a female brown brindle dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 1 years old.
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 30-Oct-2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- no time for animal.
Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
A volunteer writes: I met this sweet brindlicious dumpling of a girl as she was waiting with her former owner in the lobby. She greeted me with a sweet hello, and promptly rolled over for a belly rub, happy to lie there as long as I rubbed her belly. Her coat is as soft as the finest silk, she has little puppy rolls of fur, her tail wagged and she had my heart right at that moment. Surrendered by her person due to no time to care for her, we’re told that she lived respectfully and playfully with three young children (ages 2,3,and 7), doesn’t guard her things, is housetrained and will also ‘go’ on newspaper, is friendly to all and greets exuberantly, has been around small dogs and plays well with them, enjoys her bath, loves chew bones and playing tug, and is energetic. I met her again later when she was out for a short walk with staff and she seemed to remember me from earlier in the day, greeting me like a friend. Sugar is getting her bearings, figuring out this new place which doesn’t include her people or anything she knows. She still cuddled with me, wagging her tail, posed for some pictures, enjoyed some treats and meeting other staff. Sugar has been beautifully cared for and socialized and although I’m giving away my age, I serenaded her with a song from way back when, “Sugar Sugar”…. She’s definitely as sweet as, and this little dumpling invites you to come meet her today. Ask for her by name as everyone knows our little Sugar.
