Suga Mama A1065577 is an 8yr old spayed female black AMPBT mix who was found as a stray 8yrs ago and is being surrendered along with her grandson Baby Boy A1065579 due to the owner moving to where large dogs aren’t allowed. They were both last seen by a veterinarian in 2015 and currently have no known health issues/injuries.
Socialization:
Around strangers Suga Mama is shy for a few minutes. She’s lived with a 7yr old and was gentle, exuberant, relaxed, playful with them also the adults in the home, Baby Boy & two cats (they even slept, played & ate together). Suga Mama has never bitten/scratched any person or animal.
Behavior:
Suga Mama isn’t bothered by the following: having her food/food bowl, toys/treats touched/moved, being moved off of furniture, being brushed or being disturbed while sleeping/resting. For bath time Suga Mama (& Baby Boy) will jump into the tub. She hasn’t had her nails trimmed. If someone approaches the home/family member Suga Mama will bark.
For A New Family to Know:
Suga Mama is friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, mellow, excitable & independent with a low activity level. The owner likes her “puppy eyes” and that she likes to be carried like a human baby. Suga Mama enjoys sleeping. She enjoys squeaky toys and games of fetch, chase, wrestling & tug. Suga Mama is mostly an indoor only dog who sleeps anywhere & is walked 2-3x a day where she pulls lightly on her leash. Suga Mama eats wet & dry Gravy Train 2x a day and given Milk Bone dog treats. She will have accidents in the home if someone takes too long to take her out. When left home alone Suga Mama is well behaved and can stay in her crate “all day” (if need be: parties, if visitor(s) are afraid of her, etc).
Intake Behavior:
Suga Mama allowed all handling. She allowed to be scanned (+), collared & taken pictures of including positioning her during her photo session which was a little difficult as she was very wiggly and wanted to jump onto my lap and or grab the squeaky toy. Suga Mama then walked into the kennel on her own.
When off leash with other dogs Suga Mama ignores greeting and solicitation.
