03/23/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Stormie is our pampered gal here at the care center. Her kennel is lined with lots of blankies and comforters to make sure she is warm and comfy in her den. Stormie is so ready to go out when she sees a person at her door. She walks very nicely on the leash but we do slowly the stairs so her very large mammary tumor does not touch the stone. Stormie might be 8 years old but she does not look or act her age. Does her body even know she has a mass? She has the greatest appetite, an amazing spirit, lots of energy and looks across the board so healthy…Her eyes are bright and she crunches heartily hard treats beside roast beef…. Her first task reaching the yard is to relieve herself (her kennel is quite spotless). She can sit on command, comes when called, loves hugs and caresses and does a lot of tail wagging.. She is a social butterfly and I was even told that she did well with her peers in a playgroup. Stormie is with us precisely because of her tumor the owner could not deal with. She is said to be a very good and affectionate family dog, living in harmony and playing with the children of the house and a young Yorkie. Always welcoming of strangers, house trained, free of handling issues and not getting into mischief when alone. Yep, Stormie spells Family Dog….She is pretty as can be, very girly, super friendly, spry and very much in need of your help. Stormie has still a lot of gifts to bestow on us…….. friendship, love and loyalty, treasures that should not go to waste. Stormie and us are counting on you, waiting and dreaming at the Manhattan Care Center.
