PROFILE:
Stinkie is described as reserved and affectionate. She lived in a home with children aged 1 month to 4 years old. She will allow the children to pet her all over. Stinkie has lived with a male dog named Spike and they are tolerant and playful with each other. They will groom each other, play together and sleep alongside each other. When Stinkie notices another dog outside, she doesn’t pay any attention to them.
BEHAVIOR
Stinkie will remain near her owner in the home. She enjoys being petted. She is bathed 2x a month and will sit calmly in the tub. She isn’t bothered by having her food touched or approached while she is eating. Stinkie will approach visitors playfully that enter the home. If she is unfamiliar and uncomfortable with someone that enters the home, she will growl and bark at them. Stinkie becomes excited and will walk up to strangers that approach her owner while being walked.
FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW
Stinkie knows the commands “sit and come” but only when offered treats. Stinkie enjoys playing with balls and empty plastic bottles. She is accustomed to being walked on leash and off leash 3x a day. Stinkie is allergic to yeast and eats grain free dry dog food. She sleeps on her cushion in the hallway of the home alongside Spike.
DURING INTAKE
Stinkie sat calmly near her owner’s. When a hand was extended towards her, she woud sniff it but remained seated. She allowed petting on her head and accepted treats from the Admissions Counselor hands. She would bark at every sudden sound she heard. She was collared, scanned for a microchip(negative) and photographed.
Behavior:
Stinkie walks calmly on leash. She was calm and relaxed during handling. Stinkie was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. She was not interested in toys.
