A volunteer writes: Her former owner words…..”Starr is a very loving dog and deserves a very loving home.” After spending some time with Starr, I can not agree more… She truly is a star and a wonderful dog, so classy, so elegant, sociable and friendly and so very playful. I am not surprised that she shined in her behavioral evaluation . Starr is calm in her kennel although she is right at her door and making sure to be noticed which is not difficult as she is as tall and gorgeous as a fashion model . She owns the most beautiful velvety eyes and her smile is the award winning type… No problem to leash Starr. She knows the drill. Going out means keeping a clean house. Yep. she does her business as soon as we are out the door. She pulls a little on the leash but nothing that i can not manage even without a harness. She is very proper meeting other dogs big and small and does not chase the birds. In the one playgroup she attended to, she was just a little shy. Free in a pen, she mostly spends time with me, sits for treats, runs after a ball or just sits by me like my own dog, for caresses. I really do love a dog like Starr. She spells FAMILY DOG in gold letters. She is a true safe and dependable pet any wonderful adopter would love to have by his or her side. Look at Starr’s owners comments. They are glamorous. Lived with kids of all ages and respectful of them, playful and boisterous with adults, good with dogs and cats, free of handling issues… No need to continue.. Starr is a gem and a star. Come to see for yourself. You will not be disappointed. Yes, she is 8 but the way this gal was taken care of and with most likely great genes, Starr could go on and on for many more years of love giving to a new owner. 1000 thumbs up for Starr !!! She is at the Manhattan Care Center, waiting for you.
