11/15/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: The minute I laid eyes on her, I knew I needed to meet her. It’s impossible to resist Star’s physical charm-ears that barely fit into the frame of a picture, jowls that seem to go on for days, and the prettiest, soulful brown eyes that can melt the coldest of hearts. Her frame is a bit frail, but given her healthy appetite, it wouldn’t take long to fatten her up. Regarding her personality, Star is beyond what I’d hoped for. I was struck by the fading nail polish on her toes. It takes a special pup to let you paint her nails-and special she is! Her former owner tells us that she lived with kids as young as 2 years old and even allowed them to play rough with her, and only ever played gently in return. She even would eat gently from their hands. She’s lived harmoniously with another dog, is reportedly housetrained and is as mild mannered as they come. She walks nicely on the leash, and even though she was more enamored by the snacks I had with me, she indulged me in a bit of a cuddling session. Star is definitely a little beacon of light in a dark sky-ask to meet her today!
