12/06/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
12/06/16 13:50 BASIC INFO Spot A1098910 is an approximately 10 month old American Pitbull terrier Mix. He was found about a month ago as a stray in The Bronx. The new owner has to surrender him because they cannot afford to properly care for him. Spot does not have any apparent health concerns. SOCIALIZATION Spot is very friendly with strangers. He lived with a 3 and 4 year old and he wass relaxed, playful and respectful of the children. He played gentle with kids and adults alike. He never lived with another animal. BEHAVIOR Spot is destructive when left home alone and will chew on walls, and garbage. During loud noises, he is not bothered. You can take away his food bowl ,water bowl or toy away without a problem. He is not bothered if you push him off of furniture, awaken him or restrain him. He allows you to bathe him. If an unfamiliar approaches the doorway, he barks. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Spot is best described as friendly, affectionate and playful. He has a high activity level. He loves to run and jump. At home he follows you around. He lovs to play with squeaky and rope toys. he likes to play tug. He has been kept mostly indoors and sleeps on a doggy bed. He was fed Pedigree wet food. He is mostly house trained and prefers to go on cement. He does have accidents if not taken out on time. When left alone, he is destructive. When left alone in the yard, he is well behaved. Spot listens to the command sit and stop. For exercise he is walked off leash, where he stays close. On the leash, he pulls lightly. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Spot allowed all handling, collaring and photos.

12/08/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Puppy Spot is one handsome young Prince. He is dressed attractively in a faintly patterned silky red coat. His eyes sparkle gentle lights. He owns superb rabbit ears that he is not afraid to use…great for the pictures!! Spot is ready when you are. Leashed one, two, three, he exits the building on 3 legs. Indeed, Spot is not using his right hind that seems to be injured. But the temptation of a walk and time free in a pen is too great. Let’s go…slowly, little boy, or the veterinarians will be on our case and you will not heal well. Loose in an enclosure, Spot moves at his own pace. I know he would love to play ball, run around and jump but his body tells him otherwise. He likes treats that he takes gently from my hand and absolutely loves caresses and hugs. He is a wonderful face licker! Spot might be a gorgeous youngster but he is too thin, his nails are so long and his injury is a mystery. We are feeding him more intensively and providing him with the rest needed, but he will need, without doubt, follow up care in a veterinary clinic once adopted or fostered. A loving home will perfect his recovery and insure a bright future. Spot is very much liked here at the care center and we are all hoping that his lucky star will soon shine high and bright. Spot is at the Manhattan Care Center.
