04/09/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: This little pup so loves a good time that after playgroup, in which she had the time of her life, romping with other dogs, she had to be carried back to her kennel because no way was she going in voluntarily. And why should she, when so much life awaits her, and so much fun is still to be had? Spot is extremely affectionate, showering other dogs and humans with kisses, and everything one could possibly want in a puppy. Please, let this be her last day being stuck in a kennel when the world awaits! Another volunteer writes: Anyone want to guess why Spot is named Spot? Correct!! This adorable little girl in her black and white spotted coat is so wiggly and excited about making new friends, going out for a walk, going potty the moment she’s outside, her excitement is contagious and you can’t help but laugh along with her. Her little butt starts to wiggle with happiness when I talk to her, her tail never stops wagging, she loves to cuddle, and if she could dig a hole in me to nest I think she would. She loves, loves, loves to get close. Her intake notes call her “friendly and affectionate” and she is certainly that and more. Her first playgroup found her enjoying soft play with other dogs, and as other dogs pass our pen she wiggles in delight. If you’re ready to wake up every day with a smile on your face in anticipation of a great day with Spot at your side do come meet her today. She’s a tiny 30 pounds in stature, with a big, fun personality, proving that good things come in small packages!!
04/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Spot pulls a bit on the leash. She was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up, mouthy (moderate). Spot was overexcited during handling, jumping up, mouthy, and was hard to position, but showed no aggression. She did a lot of jumping up and body checking while playing tag she became very mouthy (moderate) at the end of the game. Spot took the toy away but had soft body language. The behavior department feels that she may do best with an experienced adopter no children who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification. Look: 3. Dog jumps on the Assessor, consistently rubs her shoulder on the Assessor, and will not allow Assessor to conduct the assessment. Sensitivity: 2. Dog repeatedly turns toward the Assessor’s hand, with loose body and open mouth, mouths the hand, but does not apply pressure and dog licks hands while lips are long. Tag: 3. Dog responds with her tail high, ears forward, mouth likely closed for at least half of the assessment item, body stiff and body checks the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 2. Dog gently places his open mouth over the Assessor’s hand without applying pressure. Squeeze2: 2. Dog gently places his open mouth over the Assessor’s hand without applying pressure. Toy 1.
